Hospital Bag Checklist: Clothes to Pack for You

Soft wide-leg maternity pants for the hospital bag

Most hospital bag lists focus on the baby, and that makes sense. But you will be the one who needs to feel comfortable for a day or more, then get dressed to go home. Here is what to pack for yourself.

For labour

  • A loose nightgown, oversized tee or the gown provided by the hospital.
  • Warm socks or slipper socks with grip.
  • A hair tie or two.
  • A light robe for walking around.

For after birth

  • Two or three comfortable tops. If you plan to breastfeed, choose tops that open easily.
  • Comfortable, high-rise underwear.
  • A soft, supportive bra.

For going home

This is the outfit many women forget. Your belly will still be soft and sensitive after birth, so you will not want anything tight or with a button at the waist.

Soft pants with a wide, gentle panel are ideal. Our FloCozy and FloMove wide-leg pants are comfortable for the drive home and the first weeks after baby. Add a cozy cardigan and slip-on shoes.

Extras that help

  • A phone charger with a long cable.
  • Lip balm.
  • Toiletries in travel sizes.
  • Snacks and a water bottle with a straw.

Your hospital or midwife may give you their own list, so compare with it before your due date.

Mix any 3 styles: buy 2, get 1 free.
